Minimum system requirements

You can connect Bolt 3 to a computer that meets the following minimum system requirements:

  • macOS Sierra or higher
  • Windows 10 or higher

Minimum hardware requirements

Connect your LaCie Bolt 3 to a computer with a Thunderbolt 3 port.

  Important info regarding Thunderbolt 3 cables: Thunderbolt 3 cables feature USB-C connectors that look and feel the same as standard USB 3.1 cables. Make certain to use a Thunderbolt 3 cable when connecting your computer to Bolt 3. Additionally, some third-party Thunderbolt 3 cables can be faulty or defective due to improper materials and/or construction. Using poor quality third-party cables can damage Bolt 3. Therefore, LaCie recommends using the Thunderbolt 3 cable included with your Bolt 3 and cables that are certified as Thunderbolt 3 technology.
