USB-C protocols

USB is a serial input/output technology for connecting peripheral devices to a computer. USB-C is the latest implementation of this standard and it provides higher bandwidth and new power management features.

The Thunderbolt 3 port on LaCie Rugged SSD Pro supports the following protocols:

Thunderbolt 3	up to 40Gb/s
USB 3.1 Gen 2	up to 10Gb/s
USB 3.1 Gen 1	up to 5Gb/s

Cables

Rugged SSD Pro is shipped with a single Thunderbolt 3 cable that is compatible with both Thunderbolt 3 and USB 3.1 Gen 1/Gen 2 (USB-C) ports.

Rugged SSD Pro Thunderbolt 3 port	Computer Thunderbolt 3 or USB-C port

Due to power delivery limitations, do not connect LaCie Rugged SSD Pro to USB Type A ports of any kind.
