Some external storage devices may experience slower performance with the first generation of Apple Silicon Macs (“M1 Macs”) in comparison with Macs that run on Intel-based CPUs. Please know that LaCie and Seagate strive to release products that meet the specifications of compatible host computers. We also do our best to support existing products within their warranty period for connectivity to updated host computers. We will continue to investigate feedback from LaCie and Seagate users on both Mac and Windows PC platforms and release software updates where applicable.
If running a LaCie 5big, 6big, or 12big in RAID 5 mode then an update is available for the LaCie RAID manager which will improve performance. Update to version 2.9.4.x or higher.
