Change disk icon on Mac OS X
Summary:
Change disk icon on Mac OS X.
All LaCie hard disks have a picture of the drive itself as the desktop icon. If the LaCie is formatted, or becomes corrupted, that icon is lost. Fortunately, the icon can be reassigned at any time.
There are a variety of LaCie-branded icons available from our website, http://www.lacie.com. All icons are located in the "Image Bank", then in the "Icons and Wallpaper" section.
When a suitable icon is found, follow the procedure below to assign it to the LaCie drive:

Step 1: Browse the icon package downloaded from our website. Once a suitable icon is found, highlight the desired icon by clicking on it once. Choose "File", then "Get Info" from the menu bar at the top of the screen. An information window will appear. Do the same thing with the LaCie drive's desktop icon. There should now be two information windows on the screen.

Step 2: Click the information window with the preferred icon, then click the icon itself. The icon should have a highlight around it. The highlight indicates that the icon is selected. Click "Edit", then "Copy" from the menu bar.

Step 3: Click the information window for the drive, then click the icon that will be replaced. The icon should have a blue highlight similar to step 1. Click "Edit", then "Paste" from the menu bar.

The LaCie will appear with the new icon in the future.
