LaCie sync claims the software requires a license, or is a demo version
LaCie software products, including the LaCie Sync software, also come with a license for use. In some situations, the software is unaware the product is authorized to use it, and will request payment for future use. This is due to the software not identifying the LaCie hard drive properly during the installation (or the drive was not present at the time.)
To fix this, remove the software through the "Add or remove programs" application in Control Panel, then reinstall the program with the drive connected and working. Disable any anti-virus or anti-spyware programs first, as those can interfere with this process.
Additionally, make sure the software resides on the LaCie disk itself, and not on the computer. Unlike most software, the LaCie Sync software is designed to be run from the external disk.
