Create and save a desktop screen shot
Summary:
Create and save a desktop screen shot.
Both Macintosh and Windows are capable of saving what is on the screen to an image file. This is useful for demonstrations, or showing others the appearance of programs running on a computer. It is a simple process on either platform.
Windows
Press the "Print Screen" button on the keyboard. This copies the desktop into the clipboard.
Open the Paint program (located in Start -> Programs -> Accessories.)
Click the Edit option in the menu bar, then choose Paste. The image of the desktop will be pasted in the program.
Save the image file where desired, in any of the formats that Paint supports.
Macintosh
On the keyboard, press Command (the Apple logo button), Shift, and the number 3 all at the same time. An image of the desktop will be saved to the desktop. The files will be called "Picture", followed by a number.
