LaCie 12big Rack Fibre comes with a fiber channel port mapping feature that allows you to map the different logical drives onto the specific fiber channel ports. The SAN LUN Mapping feature is a licensed product, which allows you to precisely control which hosts have access to which logical drives within a SAN environment. When attaching more than one host system to a storage system, it may be necessary to control in the finest details which hosts have access to which logical drives. As such, in addition to controlling availability on a controller port by port basis, it is also possible through this feature to further restrict ac¬cess to a specific host system or single adapter in a host system by the use of SAN LUN mapping. Up to 512 SAN LUN mappings are supported.
