Note: The following instructions are for Easy Mode.
Begin by clicking "Create Backup" and choosing a name for the backup script. The default name is "Easy Layout Backup Job."
Once you have named the backup job, you must select a "Backup location" by clicking the "Browse" button. This is where the files will be copied to.
Click "Next." Select the items you want to backup. It can be any location on your computer or storage drives. You may select specific files or folders by name by clicking "My Folders," or you may select data by file type by clicking on "My Profile."
Click "Next." If you select "Enable Schedule," you may set a recurring schedule for this backup to occur.
Click "Next." Once you have all of the settings you desire for the backup set, you may click on either "Backup Now" or "Save job and return to main page."You may also wait for the schedule to start (if you set one).
In addition, any LaCie direct-attached hard disk is compatible with Windows' built-in Backup and Restore utility. After you create your first backup, Windows Backup will add new or changed information to your subsequent backups.
Open Backup and Restore by clicking Start - Control Panel - System and Maintenance - Backup and Restore.
Click "Set up backup"and select the LaCie hard disk from the list of available backup destinations.
Click "Next." You may decide to either let Windows automatically select what data to backup or to select precisely what data to backup yourself.
Click "Next" to review your settings. You may also click "Change schedule" to set a scheduled time for backups to run automatically.
