LaCie Connects Your PC and HDTV with its First HD Wireless Home Media Center: LaCinema Black MAX

2. Februar 2009

Today LaCie announced the most versatile multimedia drive to join the LaCinema product range – the LaCinema Black MAX, Design by Neil Poulton. In addition to audio, photo, and video management features, the Black MAX provides the latest in digital video recording and home networking technology. It is built to optimize how consumers store and play content in their home entertainment setup.

Access all your media from LaCinema Black MAX The Black MAX features a wireless connection to promote seamless networking convenience. Users can chose to stream media from a media server, running on a computer or network-attached storage. Files can also be transferred quickly from the server to LaCinema Black MAX, all while it remains connected to the High Definition television. USB ports for peripherals allow users to expand capacity, or directly connect devices like digital cameras to download and view photos.

Built for High Definition LaCinema Black MAX promotes a greater use of HDTVs: Decoding 1080p resolution movies, HD JPEG photos and 1080i upscaling of Standard Definition movies. The High Definition Digital Video Recorder (DVR) technology featured in the LaCinema Black MAX performs permanent time shifting, allowing users to pause, rewind, or record programs at their discretion. Users can also schedule recording for future playback on their TV or mobile device.

“With the volume and accessibility of digital content, consumers need a multimedia device that will allow them to store and play content where they want it, and when they want it,” said Patrick Salin, LaCie Multimedia Business Unit Manager. “The LaCinema Black MAX enables users to access media over their network, listen to music, sort photos, record TV programming, and ultimately get the desired experience from their media collection – all from one product.”

Easy use for the entire family With the help of an intuitive program interface, families can easily navigate their media, creating photo slideshows or music playlists with the touch of a button. The LaCinema Black MAX also comes with a parental control feature to password-protect files, allowing parents to centralize and secure their multimedia content with confidence.

The LaCinema Black MAX is available in 500GB* and supports a broad variety of file formatting options. The 500GB option is capable of storing up to 710 movies, 165,000 songs, 500,000 photos, or 250 hours of recording**.

Availability The LaCinema Black MAX is available in Europe through the LaCie Online Store or LaCie Resellers at the suggested retail price starting at 449€. For more product information, visit www.lacie.com.
