LaCie expands its 300 Series of high-end LCDs with the 19” LaCie 319 Monitor, designed for graphics professionals who are serious about color rendering. With specs similar to the 21” LaCie 321 LCD launched last fall, LaCie 319 is an ideal color solution for graphic designers, photographers and pre-press printing technicians. All 300 Series monitors come bundled with the LaCie blue eye pro calibration software that is designed to work specifically with these monitors and offers simple one-click calibration on a Mac or PC.

LaCie 319 Monitor’s S-IPS panel presents pure, vibrant colors across the entire range thanks to its strong contrast ratio of 600:1 and impressive luminance of 270 cd/m2. LaCie 300 Series monitors utilize the most advanced TFT technology available today in conjunction with high-end backlighting. As a result, they offer the benefit of a CRT-grade color gamut in a flat screen monitor. The broad gamut of displayed colors is a wide 72% of the NTSC (National Television System Committee) video standards gamut and 100% of the EBU (European Broadcasting Union) gamut.

With 10-bit gamma correction, LaCie 300 Series monitors provide the finest caliber of gamma control. This allows for smooth transitions in color gradients most noticeably in areas such as skin tones or shaded black-and-white images. The expansive viewing angles of 178° in all directions prevent grayscale inversion or any loss of contrast from the widest range of vantage points. An A4 page in 1:1 format can easily be displayed in both landscape and portrait mode.

For maximum ergonomic versatility, it can be height-adjusted, tilted and swiveled. Landscape mode can easily be changed a full 90° to portrait mode viewing. For the most demanding color-related tasks, such as photo retouching and on-screen proofing, the included LaCie monitor hood ensures that external lighting conditions and surrounding light sources do not interfere with the document’s intrinsic colors. The anti-glare hood includes a retractable hook for easy installation and placement of a colorimeter.
