In rare situations, a LaCie drive that uses multiple internal disks will display incorrectly. Instead of appearing as one drive, it may shows as multiple separate drives. That is most commonly caused by:
- The incorrect model was chosen during a firmware update.
- The firmware is corrupted, or damaged from a physical cause.
- The external power supply has failed partially.
Use the LaCie Update Tool to attempt to fix the drive. This program will ask what model LaCie is connected. Choose the correct option, and attempt to upgrade the firmware. If the problem was due to a firmware failure, this will solve the problem.
